What age can children start swimming lessons?
At Star Aquatics, children can begin their swimming journey from as young as 3 months old through our Baby Star Programs.
Our programs are designed to support every stage of your child’s development, from building water confidence and comfort through to developing essential swimming and water safety skills.
What should we bring to swimming lessons?
All you need to bring along are a few essentials:
· Swimsuit or swimwear
· Towel for after the lesson
· Change of clothes
· Swimming nappy for our littlest swimmers (if required)
· Goggles or a swimming cap (optional)
Most importantly, bring your child’s enthusiasm and a smile! We’ll take care of the rest.
How long are the swimming lessons?
All Star Aquatics lessons run for 30 minutes.
This provides the perfect amount of time for children to learn, practise new skills, and build confidence in the water while keeping lessons engaging and age appropriate.
Are parents allowed in the pool?
Yes, parents and carers are welcome to participate in the water during our Baby Star Programs only.
For all other programs, parents can watch lessons from our viewing areas and celebrate their child’s progress from poolside.
What is the class size?
At Star Aquatics, we believe smaller classes create safer and more effective learning environments.
Our classes generally have 3–6 swimmers, allowing our qualified aquatic educators to provide personalised attention, support individual learning needs, and help every swimmer progress with confidence.
Can I cancel a class and receive a make-up lesson?
Yes! We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes families are unable to attend their regular lesson.
Star Aquatics offers unlimited make-up lessons for swimmers who cancel their attendance through the Parent Portal prior to the commencement of their scheduled lesson.
When you cancel your lesson, a make-up voucher will automatically be added to your account. Make-up vouchers:
· Are valid for 2 months
· Can be booked online through your Parent Portal
· Are subject to class availability
· Require an active enrolment
Additional make-up lessons are also provided for public holidays.
Make-up lessons cannot be exchanged for refunds or credits and are non-transferable between swimmers.[LH1]
If we miss a lesson, can we organise a make-up class?
Yes. Simply cancel your attendance through the Client Portal before your scheduled lesson begins, and a make-up voucher will be issued to your account.
Make-up lessons can be booked at a time that suits your family, subject to availability.

What is Star Aquatics’ cancellation policy?
To cancel your enrolment, cancellation requests must be submitted by the 24th of the month to ensure your upcoming direct debit payment is stopped for the following month.
To request a cancellation, please contact our team who will provide you with a cancellation form.
A copy of our full terms and conditions is available through your Client Portal.
Can we take photos of our child during lessons?
We love seeing families celebrate their child’s swimming achievements! However, to protect the privacy, safety and comfort of all children and families at Star Aquatics, photography and filming on site is subject to our guidelines.
Our Photography & Mobile Phone Policy
· No mobile phone use in change rooms. Phones must not be used, held out or visible in change room areas at any time.
· No photography or filming on pool deck without prior permission. If you would like to take a photo or short video of your own child during a lesson or milestone moment, please speak with a Star Aquatics staff member first. We’ll be happy to help you capture the moment while ensuring other children are not included.
· This applies to everyone on site, including parents, carers, siblings and visitors — not just students.
Pool deck and change room areas are considered sensitive spaces for child safety and privacy, particularly given the nature of swimwear and the age and vulnerability of many of our swimmers.
Our priority is creating a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for every Star Aquatics family.
